Italian rabbi and author. He was the head of a yeshivah in Mantua. He engaged in a controversy with Joseph Colon which split the Jewish community there. Subsequently he lived in Venice, Bologna, Ancona and Naples, where he was the head of the yeshivah. His writings include Nophet Tzuphim, a Hebrew work based on the rhetorical rules of Aristotle, Cicero and Quintilian.
